Magnetic Nanocrystalline cores

The nanocrystalline alloy FeCuNbSiB, Finemet type, is obtained by the heat treatment of an amorphous precursor.

After treatment, the alloy is composed of Iron-Silicon grains of about 10nm diameter, embedded in a residual amorphous matrix.

This particular structure gives the nanocrystalline alloy excellent magnetic properties:

Low coercive field (H_c<1A/m)

Very high permeability (µ_r>100 000)

Close to zero magnetostriction (λ_s<0,2 ppm)

Extremely low losses at low and medium frequency

The hysteresis loop can be modified by annealing under magnetic field, which allows the µ_r relative permeability adjustment between 30000 and 200000. This alloy is available in strips with 18µm thickness and a width of 3,2 to 30mm.

TCT manufactures wound cores in any shape (toroidal, square, C…)
